Engaging students and the public through cross-class blogs

20:35 : Christina Hendricks / @clhendricksbc

In a first-year, interdisciplinary program at the University of British Columbia called Arts One, students wrote blog posts on their own class sections’ sites (such as this one for my course), and these were then collected together on a single site so they could read posts from other class sections. That public site also engaged people outside the course–we were able to connect with an author we were reading in the course that way and he came to UBC to give a guest lecture for our students!

Here is a blog post about my presentation, including all the Tweets from it embedded.
